Liebe Freunde,
Es wird Sommer, zumindest könnte man das annehmen. Nicht ganz zum Wetter passend, aber anscheinend nicht ganz unbeliebt ist wohl diese verrückte neue Band vom Omar Lopez - und so geschah es, dass die limitierte Bosnian Rainbows 2xLP mittlerweile ausverkauft ist - Danke an alle Beteiligten! Eigentlich sollte man ja meinen, dass Wassereis und Pop regieren... nun denn. In den kommenden Tagen wird es ein paar schöne neue Sachen geben... Aber seht selbst:
Sommer Sonne, Sonnenschein & ein neues Transplants Album... erscheint als LP+CD
Alle paar Jahre tauchen sie wieder auf, ansonsten sind sie mit ihren Hauptbands beschäftigt, die da wären Rancid, Blink-182 und The Slackers. Klar, es geht um die Transplants, eine Art Punk-Supergroup um Sänger, Rapper und Ex-Roadie Rob Aston aka Skinhead Rob und dem Rancid-Gitarristen und -Sänger Tim Armstrong. Die Band, die sich immer mal wieder zurückzieht, legt mit "In A Warzone" ihr drittes Album seit Gründung im Jahr 1999 vor. Seit 2010 ist man nun wieder zusammen und begann schon bald mit den Aufnahmen zu "In A Warzone", das ursprünglich bereits ein Jahr später erscheinen sollte. Aber natürlich kamen mal wieder andere Verpflichtungen dazwischen. Für die Fans hat sich das Warten indes gelohnt. Die zwölf Songs zwischen Punk, Hardcore und Rap zeigen die ganze Klasse einer kampflustigen Band, die offenbar nur darauf gewartet hat, wieder loslegen zu dürfen. Das Vinyl erscheint mit einer CD.

Ende Juni! Der Titel für den coolsten uncoolen Künstlernamen ist ihm längst nicht mehr zu nehmen. Seit 1988 erfreut uns Eddie Spaghetti als Frontmann der selbst ernannten "greatest rock & roll band in the world", der großartigen Supersuckers. Mit "The Value Of Nothing" - coproduziert mit dem Singer/Songwriter Jesse Dayton - veröffentlich der Mann aus Austin, Texas, sein viertes Soloalbum. Ziel auch diesmal: Popgetränkter Punkrock mit ganz, ganz viel Country drin, vorgetragen mit nicht minder viel Kopf, Herz und Bier.

Ab Mitte July! A band known for their captivating and comprehensive storytelling just as much as their elaborate and complex music, Massachusetts' Defeater are gearing up to release their third full-length album, Letters Home, on July 16th. These ten new tracks are heavy and haunting, while lyrically poignant and continuing the story of a working class family living in post-WWII America. Letters Home revolves around the father of two brothers that listeners were introduced to in two of Defeater's prior releases (Travels and most recently Empty Days & Sleepless Nights), giving a background to the character and seeing some of the events from those past albums through his eyes. Letters Home is legitimately Defeater's heaviest body of music thus far - featuring powerfully intricate guitar instrumentation, colossal-sounding drums, and vocalist Derek Archambault's voice sounding more ferocious than ever before.

2xLP plus CD! Alle Formte ab dem 28.06 am Start! Die Aufnahmen entstanden in Nashville, wo die Band mit Produzent Jacquire King arbeitete (Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Kings Of Leon). Gemixt wurden die Songs von Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire, Bon Iver). Folglich ist es keine große Überraschung, dass die neuen Stücke deutlich mehr von amerikanischem Rock inspiriert sind und die Songs wärmer und eingängiger klingen. "Wir haben ein paar echt düstere Monate durchlebt, die zum Teil sehr beängstigend waren", resümiert Sänger Tom Smith. "Aber wir haben uns durchgekämpft." Die gleichermaßen berüchtigte wie furchtlose Band nimmt aggressive Gitarrenmusik, macht sie kaputt, und setzt sie dann mit zu Teer verkochtem Kaffee und giftigem Speichel wieder zusammen. Dazu kommt eine Melodieverliebtheit im Sinne Faith No Mores. Klingt komisch, ist aber so: Achterbahn!
